About Directorate

The Directorate of Students’ Welfare was setup on 13th November 2013 as the nodal agency of Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner Jaipur (Rajasthan) with a challenge for initial establishment and accelerating pace of the University in this competitive world especially for the students’ welfare by concentrating on various domains like Career Development, Counseling, Sports, and Cultural activities.

Objectives

  • Improving rural youth with knowledge and skill in frontier area of Agriculture and Technology, particularly Biotechnology, Dairy Technology, Food Technology and Nanotechnology etc.
  • Commercialization of innovation and technologies through intellectual property rights and knowledge sharing.
  • Capacity building of the University faculty and staff.

Functions

  • Organizing and conducting induction training programme for newly appointed teachers.
  • Organizing advance training courses in frontier areas of agriculture and research management.
  • Commercialization of innovation and technologies through organized intellectual propriety right system.
  • Organizing group discussion, seminars and workshops.
  • Improving faculty competence through participation in National/International conferences.
  • Assessment studies pertaining to productivity of faculty and develop data bank of human resources.
  • Introduction of best teacher/researcher/student/scholar awards.

Dr. Narendra Kumar Gupta

DSW

Dr. Narendra Kumar Gupta, Director PM&E, SKN Agriculture University, Jobner completed his M.Sc. (Ag.) from Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner and Ph.D. from prestigious IARI, New Delhi. He has been the recipient of University Gold Medal for outstanding academic performance in M.Sc. (Ag) Plant Physiology. He started his professional career as Assistant Professor (Plant Physiology) at SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner, Rajasthan in 1996 and rose to the level of Professor in 2011.

Dr. Gupta is mainly working on plant carbon assimilation, metabolism and utilization at molecular level as well physiological screening of crops for abiotic stress tolerance at field level. He has made significant contribution in generating external funding through adhoc projects from ICAR, RKVY, ISM& H and other agencies. He received first ICAR-CAFT on Plant Biotechnology to the University and thus contributing in capacity building in the field of plant biotechnology through organizing trainings and delivering lectures to train the young scientists.

Dr. Gupta has earlier been bestowed with DBT overseas Assocciateship -2005 to work at University of Adelaide, Australia and ICAR-NAIP traing fellowship to work at UNL, Lincoln, USA in 2013. He has offered to serve as Visiting Professor at University of Mauritius in 2015. He has received J.J. Chinoy Gold Medal Award 2019 for his outstanding contribution in Plant Physiology. In 2020, he received Dr. R. S. Paroda Best Scientist Award for his outstanding contribution in agriculture among all the State Agricultural Universities of Rajasthan.

NSS

National Service Scheme (NSS)

"NOT ME, BUT YOU". Volunteers engage in cleaning campaigns, plantations, blood donation camps, and awareness rallies (120 hours/year).

NCC

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

"Unity & Discipline". Provides military training, social service opportunities, and adventure based learning to develop leadership qualities.

Sports

Games & Sports

Organizing Intercollegiate Tournaments (Kabaddi, Volleyball, Athletics) and participating in All India Inter University Games.

Cultural Activities

Intercollegiate Cultural Tournaments including Music, Dance, Theatre, Fine Arts, and Literary events. Participation in Youth Festivals.

Career Development Center (CDC)

CDC

Established in January 2021, the CDC works continuously for students' career advancement. It has organized more than 90 activities benefiting over 10,000 students.
