About University

Established on September 14, 2013, by the Government of Rajasthan under the Agriculture University, Jobner Act (Bill No 39), SKNAU was founded to impart world-class teaching, conduct pioneering research, and lead extension education programmes in agriculture and allied sectors.

As a vital part of the National Agricultural Research System (NARS), the University serves as a cornerstone for agricultural development in Rajasthan, bridging the gap between scientific innovation and field-level application.

Territorial Jurisdiction

The University covers 8.93 million hectares—approximately one-fourth of Rajasthan's total geographical area. This vast territory spans 12 districts, 118 Panchayat Samities, and 12,415 villages across three agro-climatic zones:

Zone II A (Transitional Plain of Inland Drainage): Sikar
Zone III A (Semi-Arid Eastern Plain): Jaipur, Ajmer, Beawar, Tonk, Dausa
Zone III B (Flood Prone Eastern Plains): Alwar, Kotputli-Behror, Khairthal-Tijara, Bharatpur, Deeg, and Dholpur
