About the College

College of Agriculture, Navgaon, Alwar was established in the year 2018 as one of the constituent colleges of Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner. The college is located at a distance of 35 Km from the district headquarter Alwar on the Delhi–Alwar State highway. Presently the College is sharing a portion of premises with Agricultural Research Station, Navgaon. The College campus is divided into two parts: an academic block (5.0 ha) situated at Navgaon and an instructional farm (30 ha) situated at village Manaki, 10 Km away.

Dr. Suman Khandelwal born on 20th February 1973, joined as Assistant professor (H.Sc. Ext. Education) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Fatehpur –Shekhawati (Sikar-1), Rajasthan Agriculture University, Bikaner on May 8,1996. Dr S. Khandelwal graduated in 1992 and obtained Master’s in 1994 from Rajasthan Agriculture University, Bikaner in Home Science Extension Education and received University Gold Medal as well as University scholarship in order of stood first in Merit. Dr S. Khandelwal pursued Ph.D. Degree in 2010 in Home Science Extension and Communication Management from SKRAU, Bikaner.
Dr. S. Khandelwal served KVK, Fatehpur –Shekhawati (Sikar-1) for more than 16 years and contributed as Home Science subject specialist in Sikar district and organized various training programmes for farm women and rural youth demonstrations and extension activities in district.
After serve KVK, Fatehpur –Shekhawati (Sikar-1) she joined KVK, Navgaon, Alwar-1 in 2012. She worked in KVK, Navgaon all most more than 10 years and contributes as Home Science subject specialist in Alwar district and organized trainings, demonstrations and extension activities in district. Dr. Suman Khandelwal have been actively coordinated and undertaken various training programmes, on-farm trials, FLD’s on cereals, oil seeds and pulse crops and other enterprises as vegetables, animals, etc. relevant to farmers’ location specific need based and have organized the district level and block level Kisan Mela, Kisan Diwas and Gosthis with exhibitions. In addition to the mandatory progarmme of the centre, Dr. Khandelwal was also involved in execution of various projects i.e NCIPM, Seed Hub, NFSM Oilseed & Pulses, SAP, ATMA, ASCI, MIDH, FMD (Gokul Mission), NICRA, ARYA, TSP, Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Organic Farming, Natural Farming, DAESI programme and Fertilizer dealers’ trainings for the socio-economic upliftment of the farming community of the region.
Dr. Suman Khandelwal has also published more than 20 research papers in reputed journals and also presented research findings in internationals seminar and conferences.

Aims and Objectives

  • Provide value-based quality education to the students and make them aware with reference to high-tech and modern agriculture.
  • Equip the graduates with current trends and necessities of the agriculture industry.
  • Enable them to help and guide farmers in achieving cost and quality competitiveness of agricultural produce.
  • Develop a gestalt perspective of the agri-business sector, its dynamics, complexities, challenges and opportunities in the emerging global context.
  • Develop right attitudes and interests towards learning and absorbing essential and advanced skills of technology and management.

Courses & Admission

The college has an annual intake of 64 students, out of which 44 seats are general and 20 seats are on a payment basis. Presently, 242 students are enrolled in B.Sc.(Hons.) Agri. Part I, Part II, Part III and Part IV.

Facilities & Infrastructure

  • Class Rooms: Four classrooms are available with a seating capacity of 64 students each. One is a well-equipped smart classroom with an interactive panel.
  • College Library: The library has a collection of 2368 books in print and is partially automated via KOHA software with OPAC facility, providing access to e-books and e-journals.
  • NSS & NSO: The college has active National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Sports Organization (NSO) units.
