About B.Sc. Ag & MBA (Agri-business) – Integrated Degree Programme

B.Sc. (Agriculture) & MBA (Agri-business) – Integrated Degree Programme is a five-year full-time residential integrated postgraduate programme (equivalent to a Master’s degree in Agri-business Management). It is designed to groom young men and women into professional managers for the core areas of agribusiness and allied sectors. The programme aims at providing comprehensive coverage incorporating the foundation, functional, and elective courses relevant to the management discipline in general, and agribusiness management in particular. This will be helpful for providing quality education in agri-business management to our rural youths, providing opportunities for jobs in agricultural management in the coming years and transforming agriculture from its subsistence nature.

Dr. D. K. Gothwal is presently working as Dean and Professor, Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding at SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner. He was born on 23rd March, 1969 at Sujangarh Distt: Churu (Rajasthan). He did his B.Sc. (Ag.), M.Sc. (Ag.) and Ph.D. in Plant Breeding & Genetics from RAU, Bikaner. He also cleared NET conducted by ICAR-ASRB, New Delhi in the year 1995. He joined the university on 13th May, 1996 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Abusar – Jhunjhunu (Raj.) and served there upto 2001. After that he was transferred at SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner. In Sept., 2007 he was again transferred at College of Agriculture, Lalsot. In 2014, he was again transferred at SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner. He has a teaching experience of 22 years. He has been engaged in teaching of various courses of genetics and plant breeding particularly Principles of Genetics, Biometrical Genetics and Plant Biotechnology etc. to B.Sc. (Ag.), M.Sc. (Ag.) and Ph.D. He guided 11 M.Sc. and 05 Ph.D. students of Genetics and Plant Breeding as major advisor till date and involved as a member in advisory committee of PG students of Genetics & Plant Breeding and other disciplines. He also acted as Project Incharge of ICAR- All India Coordinated Research Project on Spices at Jobner campus for about 04 years. He was associated in the development of varieties viz; fenugreek RMt- 354, fennel RF- 290 and RF- 289. He has specialization in breeding work on abiotic stress in different crops and involved in analysis of research data through biometrical genetic tools. He worked as Dean, College of Agriculture, Peethampuri (Neemka Thana, Sikar) from Jun., 2021 to Oct., 2022. He is also serving as University Head (GPB) and as Coordinator PG Examination Cell of SKNAU, Jobner. He participated in several annual workshops, seminar, symposium, winter/summer schools. He organized a one month vocational course on seed production technology. He has published about 40 research papers in the journals of national and international reputes. He is the life time member of Indian Society of Genetics and Plant Breeding and Society for Advancement of Science and Rural Development. He is also working as Cultural Secretary of the university. He was associated in editing and restructuring of PG Regulation of the university. He acted as Co- PI, NAHEP operated at SKNAU, Jobner. He visited Konkuk University, Seoul (South Korea) under NAHEP for two weeks and got training at Metabolomics Lab on the extraction and analysis of carotenoids, tocopherols, phytosterols, and fatty acids under Dr. Chun, SE CHUL Professor & Plant Pathologist, Deptt. of Environmental Health Science, Konkuk University. He is a member of Academic Council, committee of courses and Board of Studies. Dr. Gothwal is also involved in virtual teaching through his Youtube channel “Gothwal Academics” where several tutorial videos related to Genetics & Plant Breeding have been uploaded by him.
