Integrated sustainable agriculture and rural development play a significant role in enhancing livelihoods, promoting economic growth, and creating opportunities for secondary agriculture in Rajasthan. As an agricultural state with a vast rural population, SKNAU focuses on sustainable practices to bridge the gap between scientific innovation and field-level productivity, ultimately ensuring national food security and global agricultural leadership.

University Mandates

✔ Human Resource Development: Develop skilled and competent human resources through UG, PG, and Doctoral programs across diverse disciplines of agriculture and allied sciences.
✔ Integrated Research: Undertake basic, strategic, and region-specific applied research in both rainfed and irrigated systems, including horticulture and agro-forestry.
✔ Extension & Training: Implement effective extension education initiatives focused on uplifting the socio-economic conditions of rural communities, particularly marginalized groups.
✔ Policy Support: Support and advise the State Government by providing scientific and technical expertise for the advancement of the agricultural sector in Rajasthan.
✔ Global Collaborations: Develop linkages with SAUs, Government departments, and international institutions to achieve sustainable agricultural goals.
