Prof. (Dr.) Pushpendra Singh Chauhan

Prof. (Dr.) Pushpendra Singh Chauhan is a distinguished academic leader, agricultural engineer, and innovator with over 35 years of experience in agricultural education, research, extension, and university administration. An alumnus of CTAE, ML Sukhadia University (now MPUAT) Udaipur, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Delhi, he earned his Ph.D. in Renewable Energy and has made significant contributions to sustainable agricultural technologies. Prior to joining SKNAU, Jobner, he served at Junagadh Agricultural University (Gujarat) as Professor & Head, Principal & Dean, Registrar, and Director of Research & Dean PG Studies, where he played a pivotal role in academic reforms, institutional governance, accreditation, and infrastructure modernization. He has led key academic bodies and policy initiatives, strengthening research-education-extension linkages. A prolific researcher and technology leader, Prof. Chauhan has led 17 sponsored projects including the World Bank-funded NAHEP-IDP (ICAR) project, which achieved top national rankings. His work spans renewable energy, greenhouse environment control, precision agriculture, and AI applications in agriculture, resulting in multiple technologies, patents, and 11 national awards, including the NRDC Innovation Award (DST, GoI), Best Teacher Award from JAU, Junagadh and Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers Fellow. Internationally, he has served as a Visiting Scientist at the University of California, Davis (USA) to work on Greenhouse Energy Management and represented the country at leading global forums. With more than 75 research papers, 5 books, 4 patents and extension outreach, Prof. Chauhan is committed to innovation-driven, digitally enabled, and sustainable agriculture, aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Rajasthan 2047.
