Vegetable Science

Dr. Nidhi Tyagi is currently serving as Assistant Professor (Horticulture) at the College of Agriculture, Khemari, Baseri, Dholpur, Rajasthan, under Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University (SKNAU), Jobner.

She completed her B.Sc. (Hons.) in Horticulture with distinction from Dr. YSR Horticultural University, Andhra Pradesh, followed by an M.Sc. in Vegetable Science from Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Tyagi earned her Ph.D. in Vegetable Science from Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. She also qualified the ICAR-ASRB NET examination in 2017 in the discipline of Vegetable Science.

Dr. Tyagi has three years of research experience as a Senior Research Fellow under the NAHEP project at SKNAU, Jobner, contributing to strengthening academic quality and skill-oriented agricultural education. Her research interests include vegetable crop improvement, germplasm maintenance, hybridization techniques, and the development of high-yielding hybrids, along with data analysis and research documentation.

She has received several prestigious recognitions, including the National Talent Scholarship (NTS) during her undergraduate and postgraduate studies and the ICAR Senior Research Fellowship for her doctoral program.

Dr. Tyagi has an active academic and research profile with 15 research papers, 1 review article, 2 book chapters, and numerous popular articles in Hindi and English. She has participated in over 20 national and international seminars and has undergone multiple professional trainings. She is also a life member of several professional societies, including the Indian Society of Genetics and Plant Breeding, the Indian Academy of Horticultural Sciences, the Indian Society for Arid Horticulture, and the Society for Advancement of Agricultural Innovations.

With strong expertise in vegetable science, research methodologies, and statistical tools such as SPSS and R, Dr. Tyagi is committed to advancing horticultural research, teaching, and sustainable vegetable production technologies for the benefit of farmers and the agricultural community.
