Dr. Arvind M, Ph.D. Plant Pathology, is Assistant professor in the Department of Plant Pathology, Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner Jaipur (Rajasthan) India. He has vast experience in teaching and research particularly in the field of fungal mycology, mass production of bioagents, Entomopathogenic fungus and molecular biology. Dr. Arvind has published several research papers and book chapters in the field of Plant Pathology, Plant Disease and Pest Management. His Ph.D. dissertation title was “Identification of novel resistance sources and comparative proteomic analysis in rice-sheath blight disease interaction.” During this, the resistant genes were identified from peptide sequence using reverse genetics bioinformatic approach and transferred into the popular variety. His Master’s degree title was “Characterization of associated viruses and identification of resistance sources with yellow mosaic disease of bitter gourd.” For that, Dr. Arvind has identified the different virus groups associated with the disease, confirmed using PCR and ELISA and characterized them using TA cloning and full genome cloning setup. Dr. Arvind has worked as a Senior Research Fellow at Quarantine Lab, Division of Genome Conservation and Utilization, ICAR-NBAIR, Bangalore, Karnataka. His project work was targeted to identify and characterize the best formulations of bio-pesticide (Beauveria bassiana, Metarhizium anisopliae, Isaria and Lecanicillium spp.) against sucking pests and diseases of vegetables. Dr. Arvind has also undergone many training programmes related to plant pathology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, and biosecurity. Apart from this, he is recipient of ICAR-NTS (UG), ICAR-JRF (PG), Plant Pathology Alumni Gold medal (PG) and Dr. T S Thind gold medal and ICAR-SRF (PhD).
