Genetics & Plant Breeding

Mr. Jogendra Singh is a renowned scientist and teacher, presently working as Assistant Professor (Genetics and Plant Breeding) at College of Agriculture, Jhilai (Niwai) Tonk, a constituent college of Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner, Jaipur, Rajasthan. He was born on 2nd April, 1988 at Rawla District- Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan). He did his B.Sc. (Agriculture) Hons. from College of Agriculture, Bikaner (SKRAU, Bikaner) in 2009; M.Sc. (Ag.) in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur (MPUAT, Udaipur) in 2011 and now, he is pursuing Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner (SKNAU, Jobner). He also cleared NET conducted by ICAR-ASRB, New Delhi in the two consecutive years 2012 and 2013. He also served as Seed Officer in Rajasthan State Seeds Corporation Ltd, Sri Karanpur and Sri Ganganagar to earn exposure of seed production, seed processing and seed marketing of various crops for more than 6 years (from Oct.-2011 to Feb.-2018) before joining as Assistant Professor in SKNAU, Jobner.
Mr. Singh joined as Assistant Professor in this university on 21st February, 2018 at Rajasthan Agricultural Research Institute, Durgapura (Jaipur) and served there for almost 5 years. He acted as Groundnut Breeder and In-charge of ICAR-AICRP on Groundnut and as In-charge, ICAR-AICRP on Seed (Crops) at Rajasthan Agricultural Research Institute, Durgapura, Jaipur (a premier institute of the University). He developed/associated in development of 3 varieties of groundnut at national level viz., RG 638, RG 648 and RG 575-1. Later, He also served at College of Agriculture, Kumher (Deeg) during Dec-2022 to July-2025 and at College of Agriculture, Jhilai (Tonk) from July-2025 to till date. He has a research/teaching experience of 8 years. He has been engaged in teaching of various courses of genetics and plant breeding at different colleges of the University. He also acted as Principal Investigator of two PVT trials for yield evaluation of mustard hybrids at COA, Kumher.
Mr. Singh published more than 30 research/review papers in the journals of national and international reputes and more than 40 popular articles in many reputed magazines including ICAR-Kheti, ICAR-Phal Phool, Jobner Krishi etc. He is the life time member of Indian Society of Genetics and Plant Breeding, IJGPB, New Delhi.
Mr. Singh’s career reflects a strong commitment to advancing agricultural science through rigorous research, practical innovation and knowledge dissemination. His work continues to support sustainable agricultural development and food security, making him a respected figure in the field of Genetics and Plant Breeding as well as in Seed Technology.
